Skyrim Script Extender is a tool that does nothing itself, but is absolutely necessary to be able to install and run many of Skyrim's most commonly used mods. The goal of this small app is to expand the scripting capabilities of Skyrim without modifying any of the executable files in the installation folder, so it shouldn't leave any permanent side effects.
Choose the correct version for your game
You'll find four different versions of the mod inside the zipped file. Depending on which version of Skyrim you want to play, you'll need to use one or the other. If your version is the Anniversary Edition, you must use "skse64_2_02_06_Anniversary.7z"; if you're playing the Anniversary version of GOG, you should use "skse64_2_02_06_GOG.7z"; if you want to play the Special Edition (not recommended), you should use "skse64_2_00_Special.7z"; and if you want to play the classic version of the game, you should use "skse_1_07_03_Classic.7z".
An easy-to-install mod
Inside each of the SKSE compressed files, you'll find a "Read Me" file with step-by-step instructions on how to complete the installation. The first thing to do is to copy the .exe and .dll files to the folder where Skyrim is installed. Next, you should copy the .pex files to the Data Scripts folder. Finally, just run the .exe file to launch the game. And that's it.
An essential tool for a better Skyrim experience
Download Skyrim Script Extender if you like Skyrim and want to play it with some of its best mods. Thanks to this small tool, which will take no more than three minutes to install, you'll be able to install loads of extra mods and enhance many different aspects of the game.
